MAN PLEADS GUILTY AND IS SENTENCED FOR SELLING LARGE ANIMAL TRANQUILIZER (CARFENTANIL) SOLD AS HEROIN, CAUSING 2 DEATHS AND 9 OVERDOSES

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “Mr. Alexander sold Carfentanil, a Schedule-II narcotic which is 10,000 times more potent than morphine and 100 more times that of fentanyl, which killed two people and caused nine others to overdose”.  Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that Rayshon La Carlos Alexander, age 37, plead guilty today to two counts of Involuntary Manslaughter (F-1), and nine counts of Corrupting Others with Drugs (F-1 within 1,000 feet of a school), in connection to the July 10, 2016 deaths of Sean N. Kuehner, age 34, Dominique Gregory, age 28, and nine other non-fatal overdose victims.  “All of these overdoses happened within hours of each other and all of the drug trafficking took place at or near 3103 Clairpoint Court and at the intersection of Crestwood Avenue and Clairpoint Way, where both locations are within 1,000 feet of  Bishop Hartley High School,” O’Brien stated.  Alexander was sentenced to fifteen years in prison.  O’Brien commended the Columbus Division of Police, all EMS medics for their immediate life-saving responses, and all those that continue to assist in this ongoing battle to end opioid use and deaths in our community.
