MAN FOUND GUILTY OF 2008 MURDER OF 81 YEAR OLD LANDLADY FOUND STUFFED IN A WELL ON ONE OF HER RENTAL PROPERTIES

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien stated today, “This man robbed the victim, stuffed her body upside down in a decorative wooden wishing well, and left her there to die.”  O’Brien has announced that following a 7 day jury trial, Charles J. Greene, age 54 has been found guilty of the murder of landlady Alyce Seff, age 81, that occurred on July 9, 2008.  The body of Seff was found stuffed in the well by a neighbor behind a property Seff owned at 836-838 S. High Street.  Greene was indicted in connection to the homicide in March of 2015.  Alyce Seff owned more than a dozen properties in Bexley, German Village, and the South Side.  Greene had worked from time to time as a handyman for Seff.  After her death, Seff’s cell phone and credit cards ended up in Greene’s possession and her 1993 Ford Escort was also found near his residence with his DNA on the steering wheel.  Greene was found guilty today of Murder, Aggravated Robbery, and Kidnapping and his sentencing is set for next Thursday, February 2nd.
