Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “This woman posted a live video on social media depicting her toddler taped to the wall because she needed to clean.” Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Shayla Dominique Rudolph, age 18, in connection to the Facebook live video she posted on January 1, 2017 where her toddler son, wearing only a diaper, can be seen taped to the wall in their home located at 6411 Lanercost Road in Reynoldsburg. The toddler’s arms, head, and ankles are all taped to the wall, there is tape covering his mouth, and the boy is crying heavily for most of the video. Rudolph has been indicted for one count of Abduction (F-3) and one count of Endangering Children (M-1). “A person who had watched the live video contacted the authorities and the toddler has since been removed from the home and turned over to Franklin County Children Services,” O’Brien stated. Arraignment for Rudolph is set for next Wednesday, February 1st, 2017 at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
