SUSPECT PLEADS GUILTY TO SEVEN BURGLARIES IN OLD WORTHINGTON STEALING IN EXCESS OF $50,000 WORTH OF JEWELRY OVER 5 WEEK TIME SPAN

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “This man broke in to seven residences in Old Worthington and stole hundreds of pieces of jewelry worth well over $50,000.”  O’Brien announced today that Kaleb Richard Kirkpatrick, age 23, plead guilty to four (F-2) counts of Burglary and to three (F-3) counts of Burglary in connection to the homes he broke in to between October 21st, 2015 through November 30th, 2015.  Kirkpatrick targeted houses on the following streets in Old Worthington:  400 block of Garden Drive, 100 block of Sanbridge Circle, 800 block of Oxford Street, 300 block of W. South Street, 200 block of W. New England Avenue, Orchard Drive, and 300 block of Blanford Drive.  “Following the burglaries, Kirkpatrick took the jewelry to pawn shops in Wilmington and Dayton, Ohio,” O’Brien stated.  Kirkpatrick was a person of interest and a warrant was issued for his arrest.  He was later arrested in North Carolina and was brought back to Ohio on a parole violation.  Due to a prior Burglary conviction, Kirkpatrick will receive mandatory time on the four (F-2) Burglaries that he plead guilty to today when he is sentenced on March 30th, 2017.  O’Brien said, “It is unusual to see this many break-ins in the same suburb in a little over a month’s time span.”  O’Brien commended the Worthington Police Department for their investigation in this case.
