Grand Jury Indicts Michael McKee for the Murders of Monique and Spencer Tepe

Defendant: Michael David McKee
Today, a Grand Jury returned an indictment against Michael David McKee for the murders of Spencer and Monique Tepe.
McKee, 39, is charged with the following:
· Two counts of Aggravated Murder (prior calculation and design)
· One count of Aggravated Burglary
· Two counts of Aggravated Murder (committed during the course of an Aggravated Burglary)
All counts include a 3-year firearm specification for using a gun to commit Aggravated Murder, and a 6-year firearm specification for using a firearm suppressor.

If convicted, McKee faces a minimum of life in prison with parole eligibility after 32 years and a maximum term of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
As with every case we handle, our office is committed to pursuing justice with care, diligence and accountability. We will continue to consult closely with the families of Spencer and Monique Tepe throughout this process, honoring their voices, just as we did prior to seeking this indictment.
McKee remains in jail in Winnebago County, IL while he awaits extradition to Franklin County.
