Press Releases

“As always, my top priority is serving the people of Franklin County with transparency and integrity. After careful consideration, we have decided to bring the Michael Jason Meade case back in-house. This move allows us to maintain full oversight of the case and make decisions regarding next steps.

Each of these cases presents its own unique challenges and I remain committed to conducting a thorough evaluation of the case to determine the best path forward. To be clear, no decision has been made regarding the unresolved count of Murder.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to Special Prosecutors, Mr. Gary Shroyer and Mr. Tim Merkle, and their teams for their diligent work on this case. Moving forward, First Assistant Bob Krapenc will lead the prosecution. Having experience as both a former defense attorney and prosecutor, Mr. Krapenc has a strong record in handling complex cases, and I have full confidence in his leadership and our team’s ability to deliver justice.”
