Defendant: Travis Ingram Jr
Today, a judge sentenced Travis Ingram Jr. for his role in the fatal shooting of Charles Smith, a Columbus rapper known as B-Att. Ingram also injured three bystanders at the Doll House nightclub on January 29, 2023.
Ingram pleaded guilty yesterday to Murder with the 3-Year Firearm Specification, all three counts of Felonious Assault and a 1-Year Firearm Specification attached to one of the Felonious Assault counts. Judge Sheryl Munson sentenced Ingram to a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 21 years.
The incident occurred after Smith had performed at the Doll House nightclub. Ingram, armed with a Glock pistol equipped with a 50-round drum magazine, opened fire on Smith, killing him. Three dancers at the club, who were bystanders at the time of the shooting, also suffered injuries from the gunfire.
On February 22, 2023, U.S. Marshalls arrested Ingram Jr. in Stark County, where he’s originally from.
Assistant prosecuting attorneys Simon Huh and Karly Keller prosecuted this case.
Our partner, Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein, filed a lawsuit in 2023 to shut down Dollhouse nightclub until the owners could properly address safety issues. Dollhouse closed for approximately 10 months but has since reopened while fulfilling with strict security requirements as put forth by the Franklin County Municipal Court.
