Case Background
Just after 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2023, Columbus Police were dispatched to the 3600 block of West Horizons Drive to investigate an unknown complaint. While enroute, officers were informed that a shooting had just occurred at that location.
When they arrived, they found Justin Douglas, 33, suffering a gunshot wound to the head. Douglas was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead several hours later.
A second victim, a 33-year-old woman, escaped serious injury after the shooter’s weapon misfired.
Douglas’ vehicle was missing and recovered the next day.
In early February of 2023, police issued a warrant for Robinson’s arrest, identifying him as a suspect in the attack. Robinson was taken into custody on Feb. 23, 2023, and pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
