Defendant: Andre Easley

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Andre William Easley, age 29, for allegedly raping a 71 year old woman, and fleeing in her vehicle immediately following the assault. Easley has been indicted for one count Aggravated Burglary with Repeat Violent Offender Specification (F-1), one count Rape with RVO Specification (F-1), one count Robbery with RVO Specification (F-2), one count Robbery (F-3), and one count Kidnapping with RVO Specification (F-1), for a total of five counts. Information regarding the victim’s attack was aired on several local news stations, CPD received a tip that the alleged suspect was hiding in an apartment located at 4724 Stonecastle Drive, and the defendant was apprehended at that location shortly thereafter. “If convicted on all charges, Easley faces in excess of fifty years incarceration”, O’Brien stated. Arraignment for Easley is set for next Wednesday, June 8th, 2011, at 1:30 pm in courtroom 1A.
