Defendant: Spencer Weible Andrews
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “This man was convicted of killing a cyclist in 2007, was sentenced to a lifetime driving suspension once released from prison, yet he made the decision once again to drive while intoxicated”. Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Grand Jury has indicted Spencer Weible Andrews, age 34 for one felony count of Driving Under Suspension (F-3) with a Forfeiture of Vehicle Specification. On July 9th, 2017 at approximately 1:30 am, a State Highway Patrol Officer initiated a traffic stop when the vehicle in front of him went left of center while crossing Riverside Drive in the Hayden Run Road area. Andrews was arrested at the scene. Out of this arrest, Andrews was also charged with OVI and four other misdemeanors. The basis for the felony Driving Under Lifetime Suspension count is that Andrews has a prior Aggravated Vehicular Homicide conviction from a hit-and-run crash that killed a bicycle rider in 2007. “We are seeking the forfeiture of his vehicle as he continues to demonstrate that he is a danger to our community,” O’Brien stated.
