Defendant: Robert James Scheiblich and Dillon Jacob Scheiblich

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “This father and son went to approximately three dozen different businesses located in Franklin, Madison, Union, Butler, Medina, and Muskingum Counties and stole approximately $100,000 in tires and/or rims they took from trucks and trailers.”  Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned a RICO indictment against Robert James Scheiblich, age 46, and his son Dillon Jacob Scheiblich, age 19.  The seventy-six count indictment includes charges of Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity (F-2), Breaking and Entering (F-5), Theft (F-5), and Grand Theft (F-4).  The indictment alleges that between April 12, 2015 and February 27, 2017, the father and son, operating under the business names Response Truck and Trailer Repair, Inc. and D&S Tire Service, were using semi-tires and rims they had stolen as part of their business, and they were re-selling them to legitimate companies throughout Ohio.  “Detectives were able to link the father and son to the thefts through both physical and electronic surveillance,” O’Brien stated.  O’Brien commended the Auto Theft Unit of the Columbus Division of Police for their investigation of this case.
