ONE MEMBER OF THE BLOODS GANG INDICTED IN CONNECTION TO FOUR MURDERS; A SECOND MEMBER OF THE BLOODS GANG INDICTED IN TWO OF THE MURDERS

Defendant: Devon Dreshawn Bias and Darnell Deejohn Vinson

           Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “Between these two defendants in the Bloods gang, we have four murders that happened in our county over an eight day time span.”  Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned indictments against two separate members of the Deuce Deuce Bloods and/or Bloods operating in the area of 22nd Street between Livingston Ave. and Frebis Ave.  Those indicted are Devon Dreshawn Bias, age 22, and Darnell Deejohn Vinson, age 20.
            The charges in the first indictment are against both men in connection to an incident that occurred on December 4th, 2017, and range from Murder, Attempted Murder, Felonious Assault, and Improperly Discharging a Firearm at or into a Habitation or a School Safety Zone, with each count having a 3 year Firearm Specification, a 5 year “Drive by Shooting” Specification, and a Criminal Gang Activity Specification.  Each of the defendants has also been indicted for Having Weapons While Under Disability after having been adjudicated a delinquent child of Burglary.  On that date at approximately 9:30 am, the indictment alleges that Bias and Vinson fired dozens of shots at or around an SUV in the 200 block of S. Wayne Avenue, resulting in the murder of QS, age 16, and attempted murder of Jawan Love, Jarod Love, and Eriq Brandon.  Police noticed several bullet holes in the front of a house behind the SUV, and also found Severen T. Clayborn, age 33, dead from a stray bullet that went inside his house.
            The charges in the second indictment are against Vinson only, in connection to two separate incidents on December 10th and 11th, 2017, and range from Murder, Attempted Murder, and Felonious Assault, with each count having a 3 year Firearm Specification and a Criminal Gang Activity Specification.  Vinson has also been indicted for Having Weapons While Under Disability after having been adjudicated a delinquent child of multiple counts of Burglary. On December 10th at approximately 4:30 am, the indictment alleges that Vinson murdered Kieara Ka’Torence Charnele Hobbs, age 26, and attempted to murder Latrell Joseph Earl Davis, age 27, and Christopher Leandru Bivens, age 27, in connection to a shooting that occurred at the Exhale Hookah Lounge located at 2044 Lockbourne Road.  “Both Davis and Bivens were shot in the head and remain hospitalized in critical condition,” O’Brien stated.  On December 11th at approximately 3:30 pm, the indictment alleges that Vinson murdered Brandon D. Meeks, age 29, and attempted to murder Darrell Meeks, in connection to a shooting that occurred in the 200 block of E. Bartham Avenue.
            O’Brien commended the Columbus Division of Police for their thorough investigation of all three of these incidents which resulted in four murders.  Arraignments for Vinson and Bias are scheduled for January 2nd, 2018 at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
