TWO GANG MEMBERS INDICTED IN CONNECTION TO THE NEW YEAR’S DAY MURDERS OF A MAN AND HIS PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND

Defendant: Christian Daequan Dillion and Mario Marshawn Wade

           Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “While committing an armed robbery, these two gang members shot and killed a man and his girlfriend, who was 35 weeks pregnant.”  Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned indictments against two separate members of the Hilltop Hot Boys and/or Fetti Nation Gang.  Those indicted are Christian Daequan Dillion, age 19, and Mario Marshawn Wade, age 18.
            The indictment includes three counts of Aggravated Murder, two counts of Murder, one count of Attempted Murder, one count of Aggravated Burglary, one count of Aggravated Robbery, and one count of Felonious Assault, all with Firearm Specifications and Criminal Gang Activity Specifications.  The twelve count indictment also includes one count of Tampering With Evidence and two counts of Having Weapons While Under Disability.  Wade was adjudicated a delinquent child of Felonious Assault in 2015 and Dillion was adjudicated a delinquent child of Robbery in 2012 and of Felonious Assault in 2013 and 2015.  On New Year’s Day at approximately 11:30 pm, police were dispatched to 670 W. Hague Avenue on the report of a shooting.  When they arrived, they found Brian Keith Williams, III, age 23, who had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.  Also shot was his girlfriend Marlazia Lashonda Jones-Mattox, age 21, who was 35 weeks pregnant.  Jones-Mattox was immediately transported to the hospital where doctors were able to deliver her baby boy who survived the shooting.  Ms. Jones-Mattox did not survive her injuries.    
            O’Brien commended the Columbus Division of Police for their thorough investigation of this crime which resulted in two murders.  Arraignments for Wade and Dillion are scheduled for Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018 at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
