SOUTHWESTERN CITY SCHOOLS TEACHER INDICTED ON CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES

Defendant: Michael Jerome Walsh

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “While employed as a middle school teacher, this man was downloading child pornography on several computers at his house.”  Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has indicted Michael Jerome Walsh, age 61, for five counts of Pandering Sexually-Oriented Matter Involving a Minor (F-2), and four counts of Pandering Sexually-Oriented Matter Involving a Minor (F-4), for a total of nine counts.  Walsh was a teacher at Pleasant View Middle School at the time of the offenses and was placed on administrative leave.  “Between November 2014 and April 2017, it is alleged that while in his home, Walsh downloaded multiple videos and images depicting young children engaging in sexual activity with adults,” O’Brien stated.  O’Brien commended the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force for their investigation of this case.  Arraignment for Walsh is scheduled for Monday, June 4th at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2A at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
