Defendant: Kayla Dawn Deruyscher

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “After being directed by her ex-boyfriend, this woman met with an undercover detective, paid him $500.00, and gave him detailed information and instructions on how her ex-boyfriend wanted a rape victim to be murdered in order to prevent her from testifying against him.”  Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment on Kayla Dawn Deruyscher, age 30, for one count of Conspiracy to Commit Murder (F-1), in connection with the June 2nd to June 19th, 2018 detailed planning between Deruyscher and a current inmate by the name of Warren A. Rodenberger.  Rodenberger is currently under indictment and is awaiting trial in a Rape and Kidnapping case that occurred on June 2nd, 2018.  “At Rodenberger’s direction, Deruyscher provided the undercover detective with a description of the victim, her address and maps of the layout of her residence, the victim’s place of employment, schedule, and parking location, her garage code and a plan for entry into her residence, ways to track her location through social media identifiers, and other pertinent information on how the rape victim could be found,” O’Brien stated.  Arraignment for Deruyscher was yesterday and her bond was set at two million dollars.
