Defendant: Jake Wright III and Davion Lyndell Lankford

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “Two weeks ago a man entered a CVS and handed the Pharmacy staff a note where he threatened to shoot the employees if they did not comply with his demands.  The note had a list of medications that were to be placed in a bag.  The Pharmacy staff loaded up numerous bags and the suspect fled the store to an awaiting 2007 black Chevy Impala with a second suspect.”  Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Jake Wright III, age 19, and Davion Lyndell Lankford, age 21, in connection to the armed robbery that occurred on July 7th at the CVS Pharmacy located at 4801 W. Broad Street in Prairie Township.  In the nine count indictment, both men have been indicted for multiple counts of Aggravated Robbery, Robbery, and Aggravated Possession of Drugs, all with Firearm Specifications.  “The escape vehicle was later located at an address in Dayton, Ohio,” O’Brien stated.  The Dayton Police assisted the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office by containing the scene and detaining both suspects until a search warrant was obtained.  Shortly thereafter, the stolen medications were recovered from both the vehicle and the residence in Dayton.  “The loss to CVS was 4,039 pills and 1,954ml of liquid narcotics,” O’Brien further stated.  O’Brien commended both the Dayton Police and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for their investigation of the case and their apprehension of the suspects.  Arraignment for both men is set for Wednesday, July 25th, 2018, at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
