CHILD CARE EMPLOYEE INDICTED FOR GROSS SEXUAL IMPOSITION AND ENDANGERING CHILDREN

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “This woman had 23 children in her unlicensed home daycare, and had sexually abusive contact with several of the children.”  Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Kimberly L. Hignite, age 51, for five counts of Gross Sexual Imposition (F-3), and seventeen counts of Endangering Children (M-1), for a total of twenty-two counts in connection to the on-going abuse and neglect of these children.  The indictment alleges that the counts in the indictment occurred over the time spans of February 3, 2011 to May 23, 2018.  A search warrant was executed at the defendant’s home daycare located at 2431 White Road in Grove City.  “The defendant was not at home and the only adult present with the 23 children was the defendant’s mother.  The children ranged in age from 7 months to 5 years old,” O’Brien stated.  O’Brien commended the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for their thorough investigation of this case.  Arraignment for Hignite is set for Friday, July 27th, 2015 at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B, at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
