COURT GRANTS MOTION TO HOLD MAN IN JAIL WITHOUT BOND AFTER HE WAS ARRESTED FOR SELLING THE FENTANYL THAT CAUSED TWO NEAR FATAL OVERDOSES

Defendant: Stephan C. McNeill
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien filed a motion in Municipal Court at the initial appearance for Stephan C. McNeill, age 26, asking the Arraignment Court Judge Jim O’Grady to detain McNeill without bond. The reason for the motion was that O’Brien alleged that McNeill posed a danger to the community should he be released, due to two near fatal overdoses that resulted from McNeill selling the fentanyl that caused the overdoses. O’Brien told the Court that a no release condition will reasonably assure the safety of the community.
At the hearing this morning, Judge O’Grady found that O’Brien’s motion was well taken and granted it, ordering that McNeill be held without bond. McNeill’s preliminary hearing is set for December 28th, 2018.
