JAQUON POINDEXTER FOUND GUILTY IN 28 MINUTES BY JURY FOR THE MURDER OF TWO YEAR OLD GIRL

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that following a five day jury trial, Jaquon Lamont Poindexter, age 25, was found guilty today by jurors after deliberating for 28 minutes.  Poindexter was found guilty on one count of Aggravated Burglary, two counts of Aggravated Robbery, two counts of Attempted Murder, two counts of Felonious Assault, one count of Aggravated Murder, and one count of Murder (all of the counts had a Firearm Specification). The murder occurred on October 25, 2016 when Poindexter committed a robbery in the home of Julian Bice and Jessica Stanford.  “A shootout resulted, four people were shot during the incident, and two year old victim Amiyah Bice died as a result of her injuries,” O’Brien stated.  Poindexter will be sentenced next Wednesday, May 22nd at 9:00 am and faces a potential sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
