Defendant: Savon A. Frost

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “During a fight inside an apartment, this victim was shot in the chest and left lying on the living room floor as his assailant fled the scene.  The suspect then went to his brother’s house, changed his clothes, and discarded his dirty clothes on a COTA bus. The clothes were later recovered and turned in to the Columbus Police.”  Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned a five count indictment on Savon A. Frost, age 24, in connection to the July 8th, 2019 murder of James L. Bishop, age 29, that occurred inside an apartment located in the Post Oak apartment complex on O’Donnell Court.  Frost has been indicted for Murder and Tampering with Evidence.  “That morning, the resident of the apartment called police and advised officers that she had woken up to discover her cousin covered in blood and unconscious on her floor,” O’Brien stated.  Officers and medics were dispatched to the scene and  pronounced the victim deceased shortly thereafter.  “The resident told police that the victim, along with his sister, and the sister’s boyfriend Savon Frost had been staying with her at her residence for the past several days and that prior to her going to bed, the victim, his sister, and the sister’s boyfriend were all arguing with each other,” O’Brien further stated.   Arraignment for this case is set for Friday, July 19th, 2019, at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 South High Street in downtown Columbus.
