OSU DIVING COACH SENTENCED TO 4 YEARS IN PRISON

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that William Anthony Bohonyi, age 33 was sentenced today after previously pleading guilty to two counts of Sexual Battery.  In 2014, Bohonyi was a coach for the Ohio State University Dive Club.  The university learned of sexual misconduct allegations involving Bohonyi in August of 2014 and placed Bohonyi on administrative leave that same day.  An administrative investigation was opened that resulted in his termination from OSU in August of 2014, and OSU Police conducted a criminal investigation.  Bohonyi engaged in a sexual relationship with a minor who was a member of the OSU Dive Club, and he later created a video of his misconduct.  Bohonyi was sentenced to four years in prison and will be required to register as a Tier 3 sex offender upon his release, where he will be required to register with the County Sheriff every 90 days for life.
