29 YEAR OLD MALE INDICTED FOR 10 FELONIES AND 2 MISDEMEANORS COMMITTED IN LESS THAN A HALF HOUR TIME SPAN INVOLVING 7 VICTIMS

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “During a half hour time span, this man went from one location to the next, within a one block radius, committing multiple felonies against seven different victims.”  Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Rodney Edward King, Jr., age 29, for crimes that occurred between 9:54 pm and approximately 10:15 pm on August 6th, 2019 in Franklin County.  The counts in King’s indictment include Aggravated Burglary and Burglary, Aggravated Robbery and Robbery, Felonious Assault, Aggravated Menacing, and Criminal Damaging or Endangering, for a total of twelve counts.  The indictment alleges King entered five random apartments or homes robbing the residents, attempted to enter a cab and threw a rock at the vehicle causing damage, and entered a COTA bus, where he then pulled out a screwdriver, swung it at the driver, and then struck the driver in the foot.  Fortunately there were officers in the area due to the numerous calls the police had received and King was immediately apprehended.  Arraignment for King is set for Monday, August 19, 2019, at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
