Defendant: Kobie Marquise Stillwell

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “The tragic deaths of three people and the severe injury to a fourth was the result of this teenager’s excessive speed and reckless driving.”  Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Kobie Marquise Stillwell, age 18, in connection to the October 12, 2019 fatal crash that occurred in the intersection of Morse and Sunbury Roads just after 10 p.m.  Stillwell was driving an Audi A6 eastbound on Morse Road at an extremely high rate of speed when he crashed into a Toyota Camry that was travelling westbound on Morse and had just entered the intersection in an attempt to turn left or southbound on Sunbury Road.  The driver of the Camry Kumari Biswakarma, age 40, and her daughter in the front seat Anju Biswakarma, age 24, were both pronounced dead at the scene.  Another daughter in the back seat, Srijana Biswakarma, age 22, was severely injured and was transported to the hospital but survived her injuries.  Stillwell and a passenger in the back seat of his Audi were both transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, however the front seat passenger in Stillwell’s vehicle JS, age 17 succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to the hospital.  Stillwell has been indicted for three counts of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide and one count of Vehicular Assault (all with Firearm Specifications), for a total of four counts.  Arraignment for Stillwell is expected to be scheduled for the end of next week in courtroom 2B at 345 S.
