CALIFORNIA MAN AND WOMAN INDICTED IN OVER 13 POUND SEIZURE OF METH

Defendant: Omar Sesma-Degarte, and Tiffany Rosann Avila
Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien stated, “This duo was found to be in possession of 13.5 pounds of methamphetamine with a street value in excess of $612,000.00.” Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned indictments against two separate individuals allegedly involved in the transport, possession, and sale of methamphetamine. Both Omar Sesma-Degarte, age 44, and Tiffany Rosann Avila, age 40 have been indicted for one count of Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs (F-1) and one count of Aggravated Possession of Drugs (F-1), both counts having Major Drug Offender Specifications. O’Brien commended the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Unit (SIU) for their several month long narcotics investigation of this case. “If convicted of all charges, these defendants both face eleven years in prison,” O’Brien stated. Arraignment for both Sesma-Degarte and Avila are scheduled for next Wednesday, April 1st at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
