SUSPECTED SERIAL ATTACKER INDICTED FOR ADDITIONAL ATTEMPTED RAPE ON COLUMBUS WOMAN

Defendant: Donald William Barrowman

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “Including the victim from today’s indictment, this man has terrorized four separate and unrelated women within a ten day time span.”  Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Donald William Barrowman, age 26, for the attempted rape of a 33 year old woman in front of her home in the south Clintonville area on February 1st, 2020.  “The victim had returned home from work and was retrieving items from the car when she was approached and grabbed from behind by the suspect.  The victim screamed and fought back, which caused the suspect to flee the scene,” O’Brien stated.  Barrowman has been indicted for one count Kidnapping, one count of Attempted Rape, and one count of Felonious Assault.  Barrowman is currently under indictment in 20CR937 for similar attacks in Reynoldsburg on January 30th and February 8th  for two unrelated victims ages 39 and 42.  Additionally, Barrowman is charged in 20CR1358 for a similar attack in east Columbus on January 30th on another woman age 20.  O’Brien commended the Columbus and Reynoldsburg Police Departments for their investigation of these cases.  O’Brien further stated, “If you believe you were victimized or followed by this man in his white, four-door Nissan sedan, please contact the police immediately.”  Arraignment for Barrowman is scheduled for Friday, April 3rd at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
