MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO MURDER OF GIRLFRIEND IN HER WESTERVILLE HOME

Defendant: Tyrone Lauderdale
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that Tyrone Lauderdale plead guilty to one count of Murder. O’Brien stated, “On June 7th, 2019, Lauderdale stabbed his girlfriend, Ranae Baxter, to death after an argument in the early morning hours in her Westerville home.” Lauderdale left the residence after the murder and fled to Dayton. O’Brien further stated, “Lauderdale made numerous phone calls to family members confessing to the crime.” Clothing the defendant was wearing at the time tested positive for the victim’s blood. Ms. Baxter had a prior protection order against Lauderdale from 2018. Judge Julie Lynch sentenced Lauderdale to Life in Prison with the possibility of parole after 15 years.
