WOMAN WHO SHOT DEPUTIES INDICTED

Defendant: Monica Justice

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “During an eviction set out and the service of a Probate warrant, Monica Justice opened fire upon Franklin County Sheriff deputies.” Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment in connection to the incident that occurred at July 21, 2020 at 2762 Beulah Rd.

Monica Greer Justice, age 53, has been indicted for two counts of Felonious Assault with Firearm Specifications and two counts of Having Weapons While Under Disability for the July 21st, 2020 shooting of Deputy Marcus Penwell and Gary Bourquin at the residence from which Justice was being evicted.  Justice was also indicted with two additional counts of Felonious Assault with Firearm Specifications for two other deputies, Devin Christie and Derek Eden, who were on the porch at the time of the incident.
  
O’Brien commended the Ohio Attorney General Bureau of Criminal Investigation for their investigation in both of these cases.  Justice’s arraignment is set for Monday, August 3rd  at 1:00 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 South High Street in downtown Columbus.
