AS HOMICIDES IN THE CITY HIT 111 THE GRAND JURY INDICTS 4 MEN FOR SEPARATE MURDERS

Defendant: Lason Tyleke Booker, Adonis Terrell Walker, Raphiel LeMar Humphries, Robert Gene Bowens

            Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “Tragically 3 of these 4 murders in our county occurred within a 9 day time span.”  Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned indictments on 4 separate and unrelated murders.
 
            Lason Tyleke Booker, age 20, has been indicted for the July 19th, 2020 shooting death of Jerome Trayvaughn Steward, age 26, on Southwood Avenue at approximately 4:15 pm.  During a verbal altercation, Booker pulled out a gun and shot Steward numerous times prior to fleeing the scene.  The victim was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced deceased approximately an hour later.
 
            Adonis Terrell Walker, age 22, has been indicted for the September 7th, 2020 shooting death of Dezujwaun Trevon Pyfrom, age 20, on Sunbury Road in the Sunbury Market parking lot at approximately 3:00 pm.  Witnesses stated that as the victim pulled into the lot, Walker and a second suspect opened fire on the victim’s vehicle prior to fleeing the scene.  Pyfrom was pronounced dead at the scene.  Police are searching for the 2nd suspect.
 
            Raphiel LeMar Humphries, age 33, has been indicted for the September 12th, 2020 shooting death of Michael Cory Davis, age 34, on Lima Drive at approximately 10:15 pm.  During an argument at a backyard gathering, gunfire was exchanged prior to the suspect fleeing the scene.  The victim succumbed to his injuries in the hospital the next evening.
 
            Robert Gene Bowens, Jr., age 23, has been indicted for the September 16th, 2020 shooting death of Charles C. Knapper, age 21, on E. Moler Street at approximately 2:00 am.  Bowens went to the house of his ex-girlfriend, confronted her and her current boyfriend, and fatally shot Knapper prior to fleeing the scene.  Knapper was pronounced dead at the scene moments after the shooting.
