Defendant: Dennis Deroyce Mensah

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “This is the SIXTH Murder indictment handed down by our Grand Jury this week-and as Prosecutor for over twenty years I don’t remember another week that compares. At a time when some are critical of our Police the citizens should feel proud-and the Division of Police should be commended- that they continue to do the hard work necessary to solve homicides despite the increased numbers.”

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Dennis Deroyce Mensah, age 29, for two counts of Murder, both with Firearm Specifications, in connection to the September 17th, 2020 murder of Prince Asare, age 31.  “The victim and suspect became involved in an argument over a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the parking lot at an apartment complex on Harvester Lane and Mensah shot the victim in the chest,” O’Brien stated.  Arraignment for Mensah is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30th at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
