COLUMBUS POLICE OFFICER INDICTED ON CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES

Defendant: Raymond Albert Rose III

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “This police officer made a video recording that was sexual in nature involving a 10 year old girl.”  Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has indicted Raymond Albert Rose III, age 29, for one count of Illegal Use of a Minor or Impaired Person in Nudity-Oriented Material or Performance (F2), one count of Pandering Sexually-Oriented Matter Involving a Minor or Impaired Peron (F2), and one count of Gross Sexual Imposition (F3), for a total of three counts.  The indictment alleges that  on August 8th, 2020, Rose videotaped and touched the vaginal area of a young girl.  Rose has been with the Columbus Police Department since 2015.  “If an officer in our county commits a crime, they will be investigated and prosecuted like any other citizen,” O’Brien stated.  Search warrants were executed on Rose’s person, his registered vehicle, and his home.  O’Brien commended the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force for their thorough investigation of this case.  Arraignment for Rose is set for Friday, October 30th, 2020 at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2A at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
