18 YEAR OLD KINTIE MITCHELL INDICTED FOR MURDER AFTER SHOOTING OSU STUDENT IN THE FACE AT CAMPUS PARTY

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “Shortly after this victim walked up at a party to assist his friends who were being threatened, he was shot in the forehead.” Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Kintie Lenod Mitchell, age 18, for two counts of Murder, both with Firearm and Repeat Violent Offender Specifications (UF), and one count of Having Weapon While Under Disability (F-3), in connection to the October 11th, 2020 shooting of OSU student Chase J. Meola, age 23, that occurred during a party at a fraternity house located in the 100 block of 14th Avenue. At approximately 2:10 am, Police received a 911 call on the report of a shooting. “Police and Medics responded to the location and found the victim lying in the parking lot. The victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced deceased by medics moments later,” O’Brien stated. This defendant also currently has three felony cases pending in Franklin County Common Pleas Court from three other unrelated incidents that occurred earlier this year. Arraignment for Mitchell is scheduled for this Friday, October 23rd at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
