Franklin County Grand Jury Indicts Krieg Butler on Two Charges Related to Death of Sinzae Reed

Defendant: Krieg Butler

The office of Franklin County Prosecutor G. Gary Tyack presented evidence surrounding the death of Sinzae Reed, 13, to the Franklin County Grand Jury on May 17 and 18, 2023. Multiple witnesses testified under oath. Pertinent legal instructions were provided to the Grand Jury.

At the conclusion of the testimony, the Grand Jury deliberated and returned an indictment against Krieg Butler for Tampering with Evidence with a one-year Firearm Specification and Improperly Handling Firearms in a Motor Vehicle. These are third- and fourth-degree felonies, respectively.

No indictment was returned directly related to the death of Sinzae Reed.

A warrant was issued for Krieg Butler’s arrest.

The prosecutor’s office will have no further comment as this time as the case involving Krieg Butler will be actively prosecuted. The office does not comment regarding pending matters beyond providing information regarding the court process.
