Defendant: Manning Tarver

Franklin County Common Pleas Court Judge Bill Sperlazza sentenced Manning Tarver, 43, to a term of 6 years in prison Thursday after his rape conviction. Tarver will have to register as a Tier III sex offender, which is in-person verification of his address every 90 days for the rest of his life.

Daniel Meyer, director of the Special Victims Unit, prosecuted the case for the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office.

The crime happened on Oct. 1, 2021, at the X Gentlemen’s Club in Columbus. A Franklin County jury found Tarver guilty on Aug. 3, 2023, on two counts of rape, a felony of the first degree.

"The Franklin County Prosecutor's Office is working hard to ensure justice is secured when a crime happens in Franklin County," said Anthony Pierson, deputy chief counsel for the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. "We will not tolerate heinous crimes no matter where they may happen. I'm proud of Daniel and his team's work to prosecute sexual assault crimes."

Judge Sperlazza sentenced Tarver to six years on each count, to run concurrently, with 52 days of jail time credit.
