On Nov. 30, the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office secured guilty verdicts against John Allen of Columbus, 47, for the rapes of three separate victims.

Allen attacked three separate minors. Allen attacked the first victim in 2012. He attacked the second victim in 2013. Allen attacked the third victim on several instances between 2017-2019. The investigation began after the last victim came forward in April 2021. Allen was an acquaintance of all three victims.
A jury found Allen guilty of four counts of rape, one count of sexual battery and one count of gross sexual imposition.
Franklin County Court of Common Pleas Judge Carl Aveni, who presided over the four-day trial, will sentence Allen on Dec. 8. He faces a sentence of 15 years to life.
