Defendant: Robin Sebastian

A Franklin County jury on Dec. 15 found Columbus resident Robin Sebastian guilty of murdering Pradeep Anand in 2021. Franklin County Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Don Miller and Rob Doersam handled the case.

Miller and Doersam established that Sebastian, 34, fatally stabbed Anand around 6 a.m. on Dec. 24, 2021, following an argument between the two men. Police were called by a 911 caller to a condominium off of Bethel Road that morning, where they discovered Anand. He had suffered multiple stab wounds to his chest, neck and back, and was bleeding and asking for medical assistance.

Anand was taken to Riverside Hospital, where he died a few hours later.

Judge Kimberly Cocroft, who presided over the trial, set a hearing for January 2024 to determine whether the jury’s verdict was based on sufficient evidence. Sebastian faces a mandatory sentence of 15 years to life in prison if the Court upholds his conviction.
