Columbus Man Sentenced to More Than 20 Years for Violent Crimes
Posted on 1/31/2025
Defendant: Dillan Bush
Yesterday, Dillan Bush, 22, pled guilty to several violent crimes covering three separate shootings. As a result, Judge Carl Aveni sentenced him to 21 to 22.5 years in prison.
His crimes included attempted murder, discharging a firearm into a habitation, and felonious assault, all with firearm specifications. He also pled guilty to drug and gun charges in two other cases.
Bush’s crimes began in 2023 when he tried to get revenge on Cole Parker, Jr., who had accidentally killed Bush’s brother back in 2019. Parker was an adjudicated minor for that crime and served time in juvenile detention for involuntary manslaughter.
When Parker was released in 2023, Bush hired multiple individuals to shoot at Parker’s house on separate occasions. In one of these instances, the shooter hit the wrong house where small children were inside. In another attack, a shooter hit Parker’s father, seriously injuring him.
Bush was also involved in a separate shooting targeting a woman who had been acquitted in the death of his girlfriend’s best friend.
"Columbus Police did an outstanding job investigating these complex and interconnected cases,” said Franklin County Prosecutor Shayla Favor. “I am thankful for the collaboration between police and the attorneys on this case. As a community, we must continue to address the epidemic of gun violence. This sentence brings justice for the victims and a step towards accountability.”
Steven Schott and Thomas Stoltman were the prosecutors on this case.
