17 YEAR OLD INVOLVED IN ROBBERY INDICTED FOR AGGRAVATED MURDER

Defendant: Elijah Jamal Hand

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned a seven count indictment on Elijah Jamal Hand, age 17, in connection to the May 8, 2015 early morning robbery that happened outside an eastside apartment located at 2471 Shore Boulevard East, where during the course of the robbery, one of the victims, James J. Johnson, age 28, was shot and killed.  The counts in Hand’s indictment include Aggravated Murder with Gun Specifications, Murder with Gun Specifications, Kidnapping with Gun Specifications, Aggravated Robbery with Gun Specifications, and Tampering with Evidence.  Five other suspects involved in the incident already indicted are:

 

                                    Keshawn Bowman Ross, age 19, Westerville, OH 43081

                                    Carl Brantford, age 22, Groveport, OH 43125

                                    Trevon McCreary, age 19, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068

                                    Charles Scott, age 19, Columbus, OH 43068

                                    Lawson Prince Harris, age 17, Groveport, OH  43125

 

Hand was bound over to adult court on March 4th, 2016.  “The six defendants all face potential life sentences if convicted,” O’Brien stated.  Arraignment for Hand is set for Friday, March 18, 2016, at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 South High Street.
