Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “This teenager has now been indicted for a total of 6 rapes, victimizing all of the women within a three and a half month time frame.” Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned a fourteen count indictment on Adam Jamar Sesay, now age 19, in connection to three rapes that occurred between June 16th and July 14th, 2016 in Columbus. In this new indictment, Sesay has been indicted for multiple counts of Rape, Kidnapping, and Robbery. “DNA recovered from the rape victim’s sexual assault exams or from their clothing matched Sesay,” O’Brien stated. Sesay was indicted last month for three rapes that occurred between March 28th and May 27th, 2016 (Case No. 16CR4201). In that indictment, there is also one count of Improperly Handling Firearms In a Motor Vehicle. On July 2nd, Sesay was stopped while driving the stolen vehicle of one of his victims, was found to have an illegal handgun in the car, and he was arrested. There are also multiple counts of Having Weapons While Under Disabilty in that indictment, as Sesay was adjudicated a delinquent child of Aggravated Robbery on March 10, 2015, and cannot legally possess a firearm. O’Brien commended the Columbus Police Department for their on-going investigation of Sesay. Arraignment for Sesay is set for today, September 30th at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
