THREE WOMEN CHARGED WITH DUMPING OVERDOSE VICTIM’S BODY NEAR GROVE CITY INDICTED FOR TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE AND GROSS ABUSE OF A CORPSE

Defendant: Brittany Nicole Westenhouser, age 26, Kristen Danielle Mays, age 32, and Erica Renee Escuadra, age 37

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “These three women discovered the victim unresponsive following a possible fatal overdose, made no attempts to contact police or medics for assistance for hours, and dumped her dead body in western Franklin County.”  Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned a two count indictment against Brittany Nicole Westenhouser, age 26, Kristen Danielle Mays, age 32, and Erica Renee Escuadra, age 37, each for one count of Tampering with Evidence (F-3) and each for one count of Gross Abuse Abuse of a Corpse (F-5), in connection to disposing of the body of Jacqueline Powers, age 45, following her death.  A passerby discovered the body on the side of Big Run Road East and contacted authorities.  O’Brien commended the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Heroin Overdose Prevention and Education Task Force (HOPE) for their continued investigation and involvement in this case.  All three women are scheduled to be arraigned next Wednesday, June 14th at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
