Defendant: Heidi Busic
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Heidi Busic, age 44, for one count (F-4) Theft. Busic was hired in September 2006 as an administrative assistant by the American Council of the Blind of Ohio (ACB-Ohio) to help with the company bookkeeping and other miscellaneous tasks. Between April 2009 and May 2011, it is alleged that Busic stole in excess of $25,000 for her own personal gain. O’Brien said “This was a trusted employee who abused her position and used the money to live above her means.” The theft was discovered when the Executive Director was reviewing their monthly checking account statements and noticed discrepancies in their records. “If found guilty on this charge, the defendant faces a potential eighteen months incarceration”, O’Brien stated.
