Boyfriend Indicted For Murder In The Death Of 17 Month Old Toddler

Defendant: Joseph Michael Fultz

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Joseph Michael Fultz, age 26, for one count Murder (unclassified) in connection to the recent death of his girlfriend’s 17 month old toddler Leah Sowards, which was a proximate result of the assault on the toddler by the defendant on May 13^th, which occurred inside the home where the defendant lived located at 198 Haldy Avenue.  Fultz was previously indicted on May 23^rd for Felonious Assault and Endangering Children for the assault on the toddler. “If convicted, Fultz faces a potential sentence of 15 to life in prison,” O’Brien stated. Arraignment for Fultz is set for this Friday, June 28th, 2013, at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2A at 345 S. High Street.
