Defendant: Anthony T. Saunders III

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Anthony T. Saunders III, age 19, for twelve counts (F-2) Felonious Assault with Specification, in connection to the afternoon shooting on April 16th of the COTA bus travelling northbound on 4th Street at the intersection of 8th Avenue. It is alleged that Saunders was shooting at a red Chevy Impala driven by Sheldon Akin, with his passenger Candace Collins, who were travelling westbound on E. 8th Avenue, just as the COTA bus pulled up to drop off a passenger. Amy Develis, as passenger on the bus, was stuck during the gunfire by a gunshot wound to her head, and was transported to the O.S.U. Medical Center.  “If found guilty on these charges, Saunders faces in excess of 20 years incarceration”, O’Brien said.
