COUPLE INDICTED UNDER NEW FORFEITURE LAW, FOR AGGRAVATED TRAFFICKING AND AGGRAVATED POSSESSION OF 19 POUNDS OF METHAMPHETAMINE

Defendant: Jesus Bojorquez-Mendez and Zulema Rodriquez-Torres

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “A couple was indicted this week for transporting 19 pounds of methamphetamine in their truck along with the proceeds of sale of those drugs of over $72,000.00 in currency.”  Jesus Bojorquez-Mendez and Zulema Rodriquez-Torres were each charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs, Aggravated Possession of Drugs and for Franklin County’s first charge of Receiving Proceeds of an Offense Subject to Forfeiture Proceedings. 

O’Brien commended the Columbus Police Department and Central Ohio HIDTA Drug Trask Force for their investigation of this case.  If convicted on all charges, Bojorquez-Mendez and Rodriquez-Torres each face a minimum of eleven years incarceration.
