DAD INDICTED FOR TAKING SEXUALLY EXPLICIT POLAROID PHOTOS OF HIS NAKED 18 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “This father faces a potential prison sentence in excess of fifty years for taking nude sexual photos of his toddler daughter, one of which depicted sexual activity.”  Today O’Brien said the Grand Jury filed an indictment against Gary Allen Sovie, age 48, for one count of Rape (F-1), two counts of Pandering Sexually-Oriented Matter Involving a Minor (F-2), and four counts of Illegal Use of Minor in Nudity-Oriented Material or Performance (F-2), for a total of seven counts, in connection to the ongoing abuse of his 16-18 month old toddler between October 19 and December 19, 1999 in his home in Grove City.  O’Brien said, “Over the course of those two months, it is alleged that the defendant took pictures of his young daughter in various states of nudity.”    Arraignment for Sovie is set for this Wednesday, June 8th at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
