DEATH PENALTY CASE INDICTED IN AGGRAVATED MURDER OF 89 YEAR OLD WOMAN

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned a death penalty indictment on Willie Lee Dumas, Jr., age 58, in connection to the April 17, 2014 murder of Anna Eblen, age 89, that occurred in the victim’s east side home located at 3095 E. 12th Avenue.  Dumas was indicted for one count of Aggravated Burglary (F-1), one count of Aggravated Robbery (F-1), one count of Aggravated Murder with Specifications (F-1), and one count of Tampering with Evidence (F-3), for a total of four counts.  Police were called to the victim’s home by neighbors after they saw that Eblen’s back door was ajar.  Officers found Eblen had been stabbed to death during an attempted robbery.  Arraignment for this death penalty case is set for Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 South High Street.
