Defendant: Rex Allen Hamilton

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has indicted Rex Allen Hamilton, age 58, for one count (F-3) Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, one count (F-3) Failure to Stop After an Accident, and one count (F-3) Tampering with Evidence, for a total of three counts, in connection to the July 5, 2014 hit-skip accident that occurred near the intersection of W. Broad Street and Amity Road in western Franklin County.  It is alleged that Hamilton hit the motorcyclist and the passenger, fled the scene, and hid his truck behind a barn.  The passenger on the motorcycle, Lena Clark, age 38, did not survive the crash.  “If convicted on these charges, Hamilton faces a maximum sentence of eleven years incarceration,” O’Brien stated.  Arraignment for Hamilton is set for Wednesday, October 24th at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2A at 345 S.
