Ex-deputy Indicted For Improperly Firing Gun

Defendant: Abbas O. Sherif

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Abbas Othello Sherif, age 32, for one count (M-1) Aggravated Menacing, two counts (F-4) Improper Handling of Firearms in a Motor Vehicle, and one count (F-5) Improper Handling of Firearms in a Motor Vehicle, for a total of four counts, in connection to the shooting that occurred outside of his ex-girlfriends home on Reeb Avenue on September 13, 2012. It is alleged that the defendant was under the influence when he fired shots into the air at her house, while he was both inside and outside of his vehicle. Arraignment for Sherif is set for next Wednesday, September 26th, at 1:30 pm at 345 South High Street, 2nd Floor.
