FIVE REPEAT DRUNK DRIVERS INDICTED WHO EACH HAVE 5 OR MORE PRIOR CONVICTIONS

Defendant:

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned five separate indictments against five individuals for Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs with Specification.  “Each of these defendants was impaired by alcohol when they drove their vehicle, knowing they had been previously convicted or pleaded guilty to five or more similar violations”, O’Brien stated.

 

Barry Allan Williamson, age 51, was driving westbound on State Route 104 on October 3, 2013, and was stopped by police after it was observed that he was failing to maintain his lanes of travel.  The indictment alleges in the OVI count that the defendant’s blood alcohol level content was .199 at the time of the stop.

 

Jennifer L. Wise, age 40, was involved in a two car crash at the intersection of E. Main Street and Gould Avenue on November 30, 2013.  The indictment alleges in the OVI count that the defendant’s blood alcohol level content was .210 at the time of the accident.

 

Mark Steven Ward, age 55, was passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle at a Burger King drive through window on December 14, 2013.  The indictment alleges in the OVI count that the defendant gave a breath sample of .228 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of his breath.

 

Benito Martinique Smith, age 47, was driving on eastbound interstate 70 at mile post 104 on December 26, 2013 at a high rate of speed at the time he was stopped by police.  The indictment alleges in the OVI count that the defendant was operating a vehicle with a prohibited concentration of alcohol in the blood, breath, or urine.

 

Michael Shane Campbell, age 38, was driving westbound on Morse Road on December 24, 2013, and was stopped by police after it was observed that he committed a marked lanes violation.  The indictment alleges in the OVI count that the defendant gave a breath sample of .171 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of his breath.
