FORMER CHILD CARE EMPLOYEE INDICTED FOR RAPE AND SEX CHARGES INVOLVING A CHILD

Defendant: Nathan Charles Fassnacht

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Nathan Charles Fassnacht, age 33, for seven counts of Rape (F-1), five counts of Unlawful Sexual Conduct With a Minor (F-3), six counts of Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor (F-2) , and one count Compelling Prostitution (F-3), for a total of nineteen counts in connection to the on-going sexual abuse of a child.  The indictment alleges that the counts in the indictment occurred over the time spans of November 2000 to August 2001, June 2007 to November 2008, and on or about December 2, 2013.  Fassnacht was a former employee at the OSU Child Care Center Columbus Main Campus  as well as the Mansfield Campus.  Fassnacht was also a former employee at Buckeye Ranch in Grove City, which is a residential treatment center for troubled youth. O’Brien commended the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Ohio State University Police Department for their thorough investigation of this case.    “Fassnacht faces a potential life sentence in prison due to rape of a child under the age of thirteen,” O’Brien stated.  Arraignment is set for next Wednesday, April 15th, 2015 at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B, at 345 S. High Street.
