FORMER CHILD CARE EMPLOYEE WHO PLEAD GUILTY TO SEX RELATED CHARGES INVOLVING A CHILD SENTENCED TO EIGHTEEN YEARS IN PRISON

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “Once this sex offender is released from prison, he will be required to register every 180 days for 25 years.”  Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that Nathan Charles Fassnacht, age 34, was sentenced today to eighteen years in prison.  On August 22nd, Fassnacht plead guilty to one count of Sexual Battery (F-3), three counts of Unlawful Sexual Conduct With a Minor (F-3), and three counts of Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor (F-2), for a total of seven counts in connection to the on-going sexual abuse of a child that occurred over the time spans of November 2000 to August 2001, April 2008 to November 2008, and on or about December 2, 2013.  Fassnacht was a former employee at the OSU Child Care Center Columbus Main Campus as well as the Mansfield Campus.  Fassnacht was also a former employee at Buckeye Ranch in Grove City, which is a residential treatment center for troubled youth. O’Brien commended the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Ohio State University Police Department for their thorough investigation of this case.
